Accidente Fatal Ayer


In Canelones, Uruguay, a fatal accident occurred yesterday on Route 5. One of the occupants was killed in a head-on collision between two pickup trucks. Juan Carlos Pérez, a 35-year-old man from Montevideo, was named as a victim in accidente fatal ayer.

Around 12:30 p.m., almost at mile 47, an accident occurred. According to the authorities, Perez was a passenger in a white pickup truck. The 40-year-old truck driver was injured in the collision but is expected to make a full recovery.

The 50-year-old driver of the other pickup truck was also injured, but his condition is stable. Police suspect speed played a role, but the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Last month, there were two tragic accidents on Route 5. A 26-year-old motorcyclist died in a car accident in June.

The police warn motorists to be careful and to stick to the prescribed speed limits. In addition, they advise motorists to always hold on tight and never drive under the influence of alcohol.

Also traveling in the van were Teresa Cabrera (42 years old), Alexandra Núñez (Zoe’s mother) and two girls of 5 and 10 years each. Alexandra, on the other hand, was taken to the Central Hospital where it was reported that she had a “polytrauma without serious injuries in the different evaluations” and that she continues to be observed “with interconsultation to mental health” due to the death of her daughter.
